2008 Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc
|
|
This wine is pale green and straw like in
colour. It shows restraint and elegance,
with a crisp and fresh range of fruit
flavours from light citrus, to gooseberry
and some tropical fruit characters. A lifted
nose showing a bouquet of delicate floral
and grapefruit aromas, matched with a
perfectly balanced acidity. This medium
bodied wine offers a flavoursome mid palate
with great length of fruit expression and
persistence on the finish. It is superb
drinking while young, fresh and zesty, and
offers a perfect accompaniment to all
seafood, antipasti and lighter style dishes.

Made from 100% Shiraz grapes sourced from
the Yarra Valley of Victoria. This full
bodied Shiraz shows hints of spice,
liquorice and white pepper on the front
palate, with forest fruit characters of ripe
blackberries and morello sherries. Matured
for 18 months, contributes smooth integrated
fine oak tannins with cedar and vanilla on
the nose. The finish is firm and long with a
perfectly balances acidity, and rounded
mouth feel. Whilst enjoyed young with a
whole range of meat and pasta dishes, this
wine will benefit from further cellaring for
up to 5 years.

Made from 100% Merlot grapes grown in the
Yarra Valley of Victoria. This wine shows
typical Merlot features of velvety softness
& roundness on the palate. The wine was
barrel matured for 36 months in French and
American oak barriques which contributes
smooth aok tannins. The finish has a firm,
long & rounded mouth feel. This wine can be
enjoyed with a whole range of meat & pasta
dishes.

Sangiovese is an Italian variety whose name derives from the Latin Sanguis Jovis,
“the blood of Jove” it is most famous as the main component of the Chianti blend in Tuscany.
This wine has a bright cherry red colour with medium intensity. The nose displays aromas of
cherries, red berries and dried herbs. The palate is medium bodied with approachable plum fruit,
ripe cherry tones and balanced by sweet vanilla oak. This wine is lively and makes a perfect
accompaniment to all Southern Italian dishes. Drink within 5 years from vintage.
